1. Create Business Cards on Steroids

I always say don’t just create a product, create a business card on steroids.

What I mean is develop a product (whether a book or a course) that opens doors to greater opportunities.

I once interviewed an author who confessed she never tracks her book revenue because it's irrelevant to her strategy.

Instead, she focuses on the numerous speaking engagements her books generate (which are way more financially rewarding).

Simply put, she makes more money because of her books than from her books.

I’ve been following this same philosophy for years, and it still pays off.

For example, I was recently invited to join CSA Celebrity Speakers in Turkey to give talks about AI and Remote Work - mainly because I’ve been consistently publishing books and courses in those fields.

2. Repurpose Your Products

Instead of creating a new product, trying repurposing one of your existing products into another format.

  • Have a book? Repurpose that into a course

  • Have a course? Repurpose that into short videos on YouTube

  • Have a recorded webinar? Repurpose that into a podcast.

You can even repurpose into the same format (e.g., book to book)

Case in point:

A few years ago, I wanted to show people how to write a book quickly, so for fun, I repurposed a chapter from my “Write Your Book on the Side” into a new short book called “Rule #1 for Nonfiction Authors” (which got over 60 positive reviews).
